Kerala opposition observes statewide hartal in protest of Jishnu Prannoy's mother's manhandling by police

Tension prevailed near the State police headquarters yesterday when police forcibly removed and arrested Mahija, deceased Nehru college student Jishnu Prannoy’s mother who attempted to stage a protest demanding the arrest of those responsible for Jishnu’s death.

The UDF has called for a statewide dawn-to-dusk hartal on Thursday in protest against the forcible eviction of Mahija, mother of Jishnu Pranoy, the engineering student who was found dead in his college hostel. (BP Deepu  | EPS)

BJP also has announced a hartal in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, the home district of Jishnu.
