Jat agitation reaches New Delhi

Pressing for reservation in jobs and educational institutions, agitators from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Punjab assembled in New Delhi. (Shekhar Yadav | EPS)
Taking their quota stir to the national capital, several thousand Jat community members reached Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Thursday. (AFP)
Their demands also include jobs to the families of those who died in the 2016 violent agitation, withdrawal of cases against the Jats and action against officers who were involved. (Shekhar Yadav | EPS)
The violence during the February 2016 agitation by the Jats across several districts in Haryana had claimed 30 lives, and over 200 persons had suffered injuries. Also, government and private properties worth hundreds of crore were also damaged. (Shekhar Yadav | EPS)
