Chandrasekhar Dubey, who was dismissed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren from his Cabinet on February 19, today resigned from the Jharkhand Assembly.

"I have submitted my resignation to Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta... I have informed him that I have quit Congress and joined Trinamool Congress," Dubey, who represented the House on Congress ticket, said.

Yesterday Assembly Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta had said he was waiting for a genuine ground before considering anti-defection provisions against MLAs changing political parties ahead of the general elections.

Incidentally, Dubey said he would file nomination papers as Trinamool Congress candidate from Dhanbad.
