14 Patients on Ventilator Die After Losing Oxygen Supply at MIOT Hospital in Chennai

They died one after another on Tuesday and Wednesday when the power failure broke the oxygen supply.

75 patients were admitted on ventilator in the ICU of MIOT Hospital, Chennai out of which 14 died due to lack of oxygen.

Due to heavy rain and flood in the city, the hospital lost its power supply which broke the oxygen supply killing 9 men and 5 women.They died one after another on Tuesday and Wednesday after losing .Their bodies were later moved to Royapettah Hospital.

A gasping Chennai breathed air momentarily with the rains showing signs of stopping and the water level receding in many parts of the state, speeding up the rescue operations especially in the severely waterlogged areas and increasing communication levels.
