Two persons were arrested for allegedly possessing tiger skin, worth Rs 10 lakh, from Kalyan division in the district.

THANE: Two persons were arrested for allegedly possessing tiger skin, worth Rs 10 lakh, from Kalyan division in the district, police said today.
    
"Kiran Savale (30) and Ramzan Siddiqui (19) were apprehended from the limits of Bazarpeth police station of Kalyan division yesterday," a senior Thane police official said.
    
"Tiger skin worth Rs 10 lakh was seized from their possession," he said.
    
A case under relevant sections of IPC and the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 has been registered in this regard, the officer said, adding a probe was underway.
