Another tiger dies, 37th since Jan 2016 in MP

An ailing tiger cub was recently found dead in the jungles of Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh (500 km from Bhopal).

BHOPAL: An ailing tiger cub was recently found dead in the jungles of Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh (500 km from Bhopal).

The carcass of the tiger cub aged between six months and one year was found near a water source in Katangi forest range on Wednesday morning.

The incident brings the total number of tiger deaths reported in the State since January 2017 to seven. A total of 37 tiger deaths have been reported since January 2016. Also, this is the third tiger death reported in MP in April.

Earlier in April, a tigress was reportedly killed after being hit by a train in Sehore district, while an adult injured tiger breathed its last due to multiple infections in the Sanjay Dubri tiger reserve in Sidhi district.
