KRISHNANAGAR: A man slapped his wife hard during a quarrel and she died, police said today.     

The incident occurred at Baliura under Tehatta police station area in Nadia district last night.     

32-year-old Shobha Biswas and her husband was quarrelling over an issue and he slapped her in the heat of the moment, police said.   

She fell down unconscious and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.     

The husband was arrested.   

The couple was married for 15 years and had two children.
