2 cops injured in grenade attack by militants in Jammu and Kashmir

Two militants on a motorcycle upon noticing a security team made a U-turn and tried to escape. As security forces gave a chase, they hurled a grenade at them.

SRINAGAR: Two policemen were injured in a grenade attack by militants in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir tonight.     

A joint check-point of police and the Army was set up at Zuhama in Baramulla, 55 kms from here, following information about possible movement of militants through the area, a police official said.     

He said two militants on a motorcycle, upon noticing the security team, made a U-turn some distance away.     

As the security forces gave a chase, the militants hurled a grenade at them, resulting in minor injuries to two policemen, the official said.     

He said a manhunt has been launched to nab the militants.
