PM Modi asks BJP MPs to highlight welfare measures in fortnight dedicated to 'social justice'

Modi asked party MPs to reach out to people, especially the disadvantaged sections of society like Scheduled Castes, to highlight various government programmes for their welfare.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked all BJP MPs to reach out to the marginalised people belonging to the SC, ST, OBC and other extremely backward communities in their constituencies through as part of the party's Samajik Nyay Pakhwada (social justice fortnight), between April 6 and 14, for making them aware about the welfare schemes of the government.

The BJP MPs would reach out to the people through various programs right from district to booth levels between April 6, the BJP's foundation day, and April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar. Modi is learnt to have asked the MPs to reach out their constituencies at the BJP Parliamentary meeting on Tuesday.

The PM has also asked the legislators to convey people about the benefits of PM Awas Yojna, free Covid vaccination and welfares schemes which have been implemented for the benefit of the SC and ST and extremely poor people.

Speaking about the PM Museum in New Delhi, which is likely to be inaugurated on April 14, Modi claimed the NDA government has taken initiatives to accord wider and proper recognition to the contributions of all prime ministers.

The PM also asked the MPs to visit the Ambedakar Museum, which is also likely to be inaugurated on April 14 coinciding with the birth anniversary of the Father of Indian Constitution.

PM Modi met Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs from Gujarat at his official residence in Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by BL Santosh, Amit shah and JP Nadda were present at the meeting. While sources said the meeting was a regular exercise, it assumes significance as the state is headed for election within a year.
