BHOPAL: Just a few hours before the ECI announced the Lok Sabha polls schedule, ruling BJP suffered a setback in Vindhya region of Madhya Pradesh.

Unhappy over being denied a ticket from Sidhi seat of the region neighbouring eastern UP, Rajya Sabha member Ajay Pratap Singh quit the party.

He did so just 18 days before his Rajya Sabha tenure was to expire.

While he hasn’t disclosed his future plans, sources close to him have not ruled out the possibility of Singh contesting from the seat as an independent candidate.
