KALABURAGI: A cannon, supposedly the longest in the world, has been discovered by three researchers at Kalaburagi Fort. Mohammad Ayajuddin Patel, Rehman Patel and Mohammad Ismail, conducted a study on the cannons in the fort and found the 29-feet long Bara Gazi Top. The canon was installed during the Bahamani Empire in the 14th century, they said. The longest cannon, as claimed by others (see box) is only 17.5-feet-long, they added.
