BENGALURU: Amaravathi, which portrayed the life of Pourakarmikas (civic workers) and the underbelly of cosmopolitan Bengaluru has bagged the best film award and Achut Kumar has been selected as the best actor for his performance as a scavenger in the same film.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the annual state film awards for the year 2016 here on Tuesday. The award for the best actress went to Shruti Hariharan for her performance in Beautiful Manasugalu. Kirik Party has been given the best entertainment movie award and Jeer Jimbe has bagged the best children’s movie award.
