MYSURU : A father-son duo Sayeed Abbas and Sayeed Atheek returned to Hinduism after two and half decades. At a function held at Arya Bhavan here on Tuesday, both the father and son who participated in rituals were rechristened as Sheshadri and Hashil Arya, respectively.

Sheshadri, son of Govindaraju, a native of Mandya district , converted to Islam and changed his name as Syed Abbasa. He married a Muslim girl. However, he was isolated by his relatives and in-laws.

Upset over the development, he knocked at the door of Sri Rama Sene in January 2017 with a request to reconvert to Hinduism. In response to the request, Sene activists organised rituals for conversion.
