KANNUR: The house of Manseed, who was arrested for IS links, came under attack by unidentified people, at Peringalam near Panoor on Monday night.

According to the police, the attack took place around 1 am, when the family members of Manseed were inside the house. A case has been registered and a probe is on.

Speaking to Express Mahroonisa, sister of Manseed, said all family members, including children and their grandmother, were inside the house, when they  woke up to a loud sound outside around 1 am.
“When we came out, there were around 10 people and  they vanished into the dark. By the time we came out they had broken all the glasses and window panes with some sharp weapons,” she said.
In one of the bedrooms, her grandmother was sleeping and the glass pieces fell on her. However there was no injury, she added.

Since it was dark, they could not identify the people, Mahroonisa said adding that they are living in fear and after the incident they are even scared to even step out of the house. On the day Manseed was arrested, there were a few protest demonstrations near the house. However such an attack was unexpected, she said.
