KOCHI:  Ending a four-month impasse, the cinema theatres run by  Liberty Basheer in Thalassery will screen new releases. A decision in this regard was taken following a settlement arrived between producers, distributors and Liberty Basheer.

“The theatres will be given new releases as he has agreed to our demands,” said M Ranjith, secretary, Kerala Film Producers Association.

After the formation of the Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala by the film fraternity following the film strike last year, the theatres run by producer and former president of the Kerala Film Exhibitors Federation Liberty Basheer were denied new films. Basheer had even said he was biding good bye to cine world.
