A sport which needs insane practice and focus is Wushu. Wushu or popularly known ‘Kung Fu' is an incredibly refreshing sport which is played worldwide, primarily in Asia. Wushu players devote their lifetime to learning this sport. Such an Indian Wushu Player is Pawan Gupta, who has surpassed the limits of his own capabilities by excelling in this sport.
Pawan belongs to Uttar Pradesh, and is known for his achievement in 2012 at 8th Asian Wushu Championships held in Hanoi, Vietnam. He bagged the Bronze in men's Sanda 65 kg. Pawan is employed with the Indian Air Force along with his incredible journey in sports.
In the 2015 National Games, held in Kerala, he won a Bronze. Later, he represented India on Continental level and won a Silver in the Asian Sanda Championships which was held in Singapore in 2017. At the International Wushu Championships 2017, Armenia, he took part in the 70 kg men's category and bagged the Bronze medal.
Pawan represented India at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's International Wushu Sanda Tournament in the Men's 75 kg in 2018 and got third place. In 2019, he competed in the Batumi Open International Wushu Tournament, Georgia and bagged a Silver and made the country proud once more.
Pawan strongly agrees with Jet Li's quote,“ Wushu is a philosophy of life. It is designed for defence and not offence. It is a way to bring your mind back and body into focus."
