If the words ‘birthday party’ evoke the picture of a homemade cake decorated with gems, we hope it’s sepia-toned. Not only has birthday parties long moved out of drawing rooms to five-star-hotel rooftops, it has also spawned a busy industry that caters to every whim and fancy of mommy and daddy’s darling.
From elaborate invitations to hiring art directors to put up a themed set, parents are pulling out all stops to make sure that each birthday celebration is nothing short of a mini-wedding. Money doesn’t seem to be an obstacle. Birthday bashes are getting bigger by the day. This gave two siblings from Hyderabad the idea to start an international ideated party store all under one roof.
The store called Party Hunterz is the brainchild of Priyanka Ganeriwal Allahabadi and Samarth Ganeriwal, who also runs a wedding planning company, Weddings n More, in the city. “Party Hunterz is an extension of our existing business and will cater to bachelor parties, baby showers, after wedding parties and regular home parties,”
says Priyanka.
From invitations to food, decor, music, games, entertainments and ‘return-gifts’, these event managers provide it and take care of it all. Their clients are just as demanding. With themes ranging from bunnies, fairy tales to Arabian nights, there is nothing they
cannot provide.
Right from a variety of out-of-the-world colour wigs to party masks, decorative accessories and caps, the store has over 10,000 items including a snow machine on rent, mostly imported from US and China. The duo is also bringing to the city the concept of personalised house party planning. Other attractions are a party planner, personalised gifts and customised theme parties. Buntings, banners, candles, hats, and theme-based accessories are also available. “The range starts from `10,” she adds.
One look at the store’s ceiling should be convincing enough to get an idea of the amount of fun one can experience. Strips of popular cartoon figure Archie’s adorn every inch of the same. “When I was a child, Archie’s comics stood for everything that was fun. There was a character who loved food, another who loved style and fashion, another who enjoyed dating and so on. Every character had a clear idea of their individual fun. And that’s what we too hope to give to the people of Hyderabad,” says Priyanka.
And the place offers themes — from those for children, to wild ones — complete with paper plates, cups, wall décor, buntings, and even return gifts to go with every theme.
“These days baby showers have become very popular. Our audience is from 2 years to 85 years. Personalised gifts and customised theme parties are our specialities. Our customers just need to give their definition of fun and we’ll make it a reality for them,” explains Priyanka.
Think theme party and the possibilities that the store offers are endless. From baby showers, bachelorette bashes, birthday parties, graduation bashes to soccer and superhero soirees, every theme has an exhaustive collection of party supplies. It includes cups, plates, invites, party favours, return gifts, balloons, party banners, games, etc.
Even if you don’t have a theme in mind drop in to the store and try on some never seen before accessories like light up eyewear, glitter hats, funky wigs, glow jewellery and so on.
Besides all these the store also has stuff related to retirement and Halloween parties like spooky masks, bleeding hands and blood soaked knives. So party animals it is time to rock the party.
Making Weddings Easy
Putting together days of ceremonies with intricate props and rituals require a threshold for stress and attention to detail that only comes with years of experience. “The idea of wedding planning was born when I saw my family going through the pain of putting together my wedding 10 years ago,” says Priyanka Ganeriwal Allahabadi.
With the goal of making the wedding planning process easier Weddings N More, owned by Priyanka, was born. Right from the decor theme, cuisine, gifts to baraatis to choice of music at the ‘Sangeet’ everything is managed by the company.
She not only handles weddings and related events like Sangeet and Mehendi ceremony, but even cradle ceremonies. The company also adds value to emotions. Like this guy from the US who was getting married within 15 days wanted to be more comfy with his bride. Being an arranged marriage the couple did not know much about each other. On the bridegroom’s request Priyanka’s company saw to it that bouquets were delivered at the bride’s doorstep with a gift and romantic notes like: “I saw you and my heart rang a bell,” “We are a perfect match,” each morning.
