You might have seen many movies with haunted bungalows and eerie apartments, but what if a police station is haunted? This is what Pretham Undu Sookshikkuka is about.
“Recently, there have been reports where spirits were found roaming goverment offices. At the Kasargod bus station, bus drivers performed exorcism to ward off spirits. Similarly, there are stories about a spirit haunting the CBI office at Madhya Pradesh, which is why I decided to explore this theme,” says debutant director Shafeer Khan, who has teamed up with Mohammed Ali.
The movie, which has Shine Tom Chacko playing a goon, Ethics Babu, will have fresh female faces -- Kalhara and Lena.
“Initially, we had planned to rope in Padmapriya. However, the dates clashed, as she was busy with shoots in other movies. So, we decided to cast Kalhara as the heroine,” Shafeer adds. The director says that he thought about the title two years ago. “Though films, with titles such as Pretham and Kuttikalundu Sookshikkuka were released thereafter, I never once thought about changing the name of the movie,” he says.
The movie has Anjali, Priyanka and Tesni Khan playing important roles. “Even though the film revolves around a haunted police station, there is a lot of satire and comedy. It is expected to be a fun ride,” he adds.
