KOLKATA: A court here Friday sentenced to life imprisonment Haldiram food chain owner Prabhu Shankar Agarwal and four others for conspiring to kill a tea stall owner in 2005.

A fast track court had Wednesday pronounced Agarwal and the others, including contract killer Gopal Tiwari, guilty in the case.

Agarwal hired Tiwari to kill tea stall owner Pramod who had refused to remove the stall which was blocking the entrance of a large confectionary shop the businessman was about to open in the Burrabazar area of central Kolkata.

Tiwari and three of his henchmen shot at and injured Pramod March 30, 2005.
