Infosys Vows to Take Stringent Action Against Rape Accused

Following the rape reported at Infosys Pune campus, the institute said, they are investigating the matter, will take necessary action as per policy.

PUNE: Following the alleged rape incident reported at Infosys Pune campus, the institute has said that they are investigating the matter and will take necessary action as per the policy.

Issuing a statement, the institute said, “With regard to the alleged incident at our Pune campus involving our partners’ contractual staff, we are investigating the matter and are working closely with the police to aid their investigation.”

The statement further said that they have stringent security measures in place on all our campuses and have a zero tolerance policy against sexual harassment which extends to our contractual staff as well.

“The company will take necessary action as per policy,” it added.

Earlier today, two Pune Infosys campus employees were arrested in connection with an alleged rape of a woman.

The victim, who works as a cashier at the Infosys phase 1 campus canteen, was allegedly raped on December 27 by two housekeepers.

An FIR has been lodged against the two and the police is investigating the matter.

According to reports, one of the two accused had raped the woman in the lavatory while the other captured the scene on mobile.

The accused had also threatened the victim not to inform others about the incident else they would make the clips public.
