App to Download NCERT Books Soon

NEW DELHI:  Come July, students can download National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) text books free from mobile app.

Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani on Monday announced that soon a mobile application would be launched to enable students to download all NCERT textbooks for free. “On July 17, under the banner of the NCERT, we will unveil a mobile app which will enable students to download all NCERT books from class I to XII for free,” Irani said. Irani, who inaugurated the National Conference for Yoga Teachers, dedicated to the nation a syllabus and course material on yoga for class VI to X prepared by the NCERT and yoga training modules for teacher education programmes at the level of Diploma, B. Ed or M. Ed degrees prepared by the NCTE.

In December, a national competition called “Kala Utsav” would be held to promote regional arts, crafts, music and dance. The yoga teachers’ meet will discuss yoga for holistic development, for specially-abled children.
