UP: Wanted criminal, SP injured after encounter in Azamgarh

AZAMGARH: A wanted criminal Bheem alias Sagar was critically injured in an encounter with the police in Azamgarh after he managed to flee from the custody.

During the encounter, Superintendent of Police (SP) Narendra Pratap Singh got severely injured and has been referred to the Varanasi hospital and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Sahni safely survived due to bullet proof jacket as one of the bullets was shot at his chest during the operation.

However, one of the criminal’s partners managed to flee from the incident.

The injured criminal has been referred to Varanasi for further treatment.

Around 38 cases of dacoity and murder were registered against the injured criminal in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
