Bhawanipatna (Odisha), Dec 5 (PTI) Two people weretrampled to death by a herd of elephants in Odisha's Kalahandidistrict, police said today.
The incident took place last night when three personswere passing through Kerbandi Reserve Forest in the district.
The deceased have been identified as Bihari Majhi andMaka Majhi of Therulu village under Narla block of thedistrict, police said.
While the two died on the spot, the third person islikely to escape unhurt, they said.
Biswanath Lellammver, DFO, Kalahandi, said the legalheirs of the deceased will be given compensation as per thestate government's provisions. PTI COR AAMRBT.
