Los Angeles, Oct 14 (PTI) Jimmy Kimmel said they couldnot immediately address the Harvey Weinstein scandal on theirshow as they did not have a script ready when the news broke.

Donald Trump Jr had called out Kimmel, 49, for hisdelayed response to the multiple accusations of sexualharassment against the media mogul that rocked Hollywood whenthe New York Times published an expose on October 5.

In an appearance on "Good Morning America", the populartalk show host shot down Trump Jr's string of tweets, saying"He's an idiot, let's just start with that. This is animbecile whose job seems to be tweeting, as far as I can tell.

With that said, I do admire that he's very loyal to hisfather."Kimmel said that he is not in the showbiz and did notknow about Weinstein's sexual misconduct. He also said peoplewere trying to take comedy he does out of context.

"Harvey Weinstein is not a friend of mine. I'm not in themovie business. And I'll add that that story came out, Ithink, moments before we went to tape on Thursday, and wedidn't have a show on Friday.

"They're trying to drag up - especially these gun nuts -are trying to... take any comedy bit I did out of context anduse it as some kind of proof saying that I'm calling myselfthe moral conscience of America, which I most certainly neverdid and most certainly never would," he said.

Kimmel, like many other late-night hosts, addressed theWeinstein brouhaha on Monday (October 9).

He joked on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", "What's the differencebetween Harvey Weinstein and the Pillsbury Doughboy? When thePillsbury Doughboy offers you a roll, he doesn't ask you towatch him take a shower for it." PTI RDSBK.
