Guwahati, Oct 25 (PTI) Acting on the Assam government'srequest, the Centre has handed over the case of the killing ofAll Bodo Minority Students Union (ABMSU) president LafikulIslam to the CBI, an official release said.
A notification has been issued in this regard by thecentral government today, the state government said in arelease tonight.
ABMSU president Lafikul Islam was killed byunidentified miscreants at Titaguri market in Kokrajhardistrict on August 1.
The Assam government had constituted a specialinvestigation team (SIT) headed by Inspector General of PoliceAnurag Tankha to inquire into the murder, and had providedex-gratia relief of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the slainABMSU leader. PTI ESB RBTANB.
