Toyota golf: Nair tops with 31 points

S.R. Nair ended with the day's best gross scoreof 31 points, calculated under the Modified Stableford format, on the secondday of the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival at the KGA course here Friday.

Vying with nearly 100 golfers for a spot in the Indian teamfor the World Golfers Championship and a lone spot in the prestigious Duke ofEdinburgh Cup, Arjun Malik (Handicap 4), playing in the 0-5 Handicap category,emerged victorious with 30 Nett points.

Playing off a Handicap of 8, C. Chandrasekhar scored 35 Nettpoints to top the leaderboard in the 6-10 Handicap category, while KeshavMurthy (Handicap 10) finished runner-up with 33 Nett points.

Vittal Narayan (11) narrowly edged out competitor Angad Luthrato top the 11-15 Handicap category scoring 36 Nett points while in the 16-20Handicap category DS. Sajwan (16) finished on top with 40 Nett points whileRahul Goyal (16) was second with 38 Nett points.

Competing in the 21-24 Handicap category, HC Lokesh Chandra(21) scored 41 Nett points to beat Venkatesh Mayya (39 Nett points).
