All Women Trans Continental Road Expedition Starts Today

In a first of its kind, three Indian drivers embarked on an all women Trans Continental road expedition from Delhi to London.

NEW DELHI: In a first of its kind, three Indian drivers today embarked on an all women Trans Continental road expedition from Delhi to London. The journey started from Major Dhyanchand Stadium here, where it was flagged off by Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Union Minister of Chemicals and fertilisers Ananth Kumar.

'Women Beyond Boundaries' is an initiative that encourages and empowers women drivers to explore new territories. Under the program three drivers -- Nidhi Tiwari, Rashmi Koppar and Soumaya Goel -- will cover a distance of 15,000 kms, covering 14 countries in 55 days.

The journey will be sponsored by Mahindra First Choice Wheels Limited.

Sonowal, who was all praise for the team, said, "The Ministry is proud to be supporting this unique expedition by Women Beyond Boundaries. This social initiative will reach across boundaries and force a connection with women not just India."

Ananth Kumar said the government gives all its support to the women who make India proud.
