S Sreesanth is always in the news. Back in the local cricket circuit on Monday, albeit beyond the boundary, he turned up in support of his clubmates fighting in the Royal Projects 63rd All India Pooja knockout cricket tournament.

Hopeful, vibrant and optimistic, the fast bowler was excited to be around a cricket ground, even if as a passive participant.

“I miss playing cricket,” Sreesanth told Express. “I have been pointed out on different occasions. But I have learnt much. So maybe I should just be patient and enjoy watching the game.”

Banned from playing after allegedly being involved in spot-fixing during the IPL, he is in the process of writing his autobiography, voicing all the good and bad events.

“I am writing all the experiences and want to share it. It is not about the past anymore. I believe all this happened for a reason. ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ they say and I believe in it. It is good to be away from the game for a while so that I can learn things differently,” he said.

Optimistic of getting his ban lifted, academy dreams too are on the way.

“The academy is to be a high profile one by next season. There was a delay of one year because of this case.  Once the case gets resolved, we will have the best facilities for the youngsters. We are waiting for the elections to get over. Sports need support,” he said.
