Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif got trolled on social media once again. This time, over a picture he had uploaded on Facebook of him and his son playing chess.

Kaif captioned the picture as "Shatranj Ke Khilaadi #fatherson #kabirtales #instaplay". The picture was criticised immediately with trolls commenting that playing chess was against Islam.

Some of the comments by trolls:

("Brother, this game is 'haram' (or, un-Islamic)")

("Kaif, we are not supposed to play this game, it is the Yahudi's (i.e., the Jew's)")

("Brother, this game is 'haram' (or, un-Islamic)")

However, a lot of commentors like this person gave it back to the trolls and cheered their idol:

In a supportive move, Muslim clerics defended the cricketer, said DNA in a report. Mufti M Mukarram Ahmad was quoted as saying that those who are commenting about Kaif must be made aware of the rules of Islam themselves before commenting on others.

The cleric also added that this was different from the time when cricketers Mohammed Shami and Irfan Pathan posted pictures of their wives, as doing that was against the rules of Islam.

Kaif, one of the most athletic fielders Indian cricket has ever seen, received nasty comments previously for sharing pictures of him performing suryanamaskar.
