CHENNAI: Vida Kovai Kings with eight points and a Net Run Rate of +1.638 made it to the Qualifier 2 as the Eliminator match against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans of the TNPL on Monday was abandoned after three overs of play due to heavy downpour. Tiruppur with a NRR of -0.013 missed the bus.
Put into bat, Tiruppur openers Amit Sathvik and Tushar Raheja made a cautious start. When Tiruppur were 15 for no loss in three overs, there was heavy downpour and the game was halted. The match was officially called off at 10.50 pm.
Earlier, Madurai Panthers versus Trichy Grand Cholas Qualifier 1 match had to be abandoned mid way due to rain and Madurai marched into final by virtue of topping the table. Brief scores: iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans 15/0 in 3 ovs vs Vida Kovai Kings (before rain stopped play).
Women’s exhibition match
The exhibition women’s match will see TNCA President’s XI take on TNCA Secretary’s XI, with the action getting underway at 6 PM on Tuesday. Entry to the stadium will be free for spectators.
