ELURU: The voters of West Godavari district have given a novel verdict in the elections by electing 11 fresh candidates.

The new faces include Chintalapudi - Maddala Rajeshkumar (Cong), Palacole- Bangaru Usharani (Cong), Narasapuram- Mudunuri Prasada Raju (Cong), Tanuku-Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao (Cong), Bhimavaram- Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu (Cong), Gopalapuram-Taneti Vanita (TDP), Kovvur-TV Rama Rao(TDP), Nidadavole- Burugupalli Sesha Rao (TDP), Denduluru- Chintamaneni Prabhakar (TDP) and Undi-VV Sivaramaraju (TDP).

Praja Rajyam party candidate Eeli Venkata Madhusudhana Rao got elected for the first time.

Meanwhile, four sitting MLAs including Unguturu-Vatti Vasantakumar, Eluru-Alla Nani, Polavaram-Tellam Balaraju and Achanta-Pitani Satyanarayana were elected.

Former minister and Denduluru MLA Maganti Venkateswara Rao, who resigned from the Congress and contested for Eluru parliamentary constituency as TDP candidate, was defeated by sitting Congress MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao.

Former ministers Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao and Kothapalli Subbarayudu contested unsuccessfully from PRP.
