HYDERABAD: With the hope that the Congress Central leadership may give him an opportunity to contest Pulivendula byelections scheduled on December 19, late YSR’s son and Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to meet and convince the leadership on the issue.

Jagan is in Delhi to attend the winter session of the Parliament which began on November 19.

It is learnt that chances of Jagan getting ticket for Pulivendula are very bleak as the Congress high command is learnt to be not keen on having immediate bypoll for Kadapa Parliament seat (if it allows Jagan to contest Pulivendula Assembly) where elections were held in May only. Instead, the party may offer ticket either to YSR’s wife Vijayalakshmi or daughter Sharmila.

Name of another relative YS Bhaskar Reddy is also doing rounds. Jagan’s candidature for Pulivendula seat issue has also come up for a discussion during Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad’s recent visit to former minister Mohd Ali Shabbir’s residence here.
