HYDERABAD: Will Nara Lokesh, son of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, enter active politics by contesting from the Chandragiri Assembly constituency in Chittoor district? Rumours are rife in political circles that Lokesh, currently looking after the family business, Heritage Foods, will enter active politics. The rumour mill has it that Lokesh may contest from Chandragiri Assembly segment. Knowing pretty well that he would be the future candidate, Telugu Mahila president RK Roja quit the party to join the Congress, sources said. Roja was shifted from Nagari to Chandragiri in the recent Assembly election, making her unhappy. Lokesh’s entry into active politics and eectoral fray in Chandragiri would seal her fate in the TDP, the sources predicted.

Lokesh had campaigned on behalf of his father in the Kuppam Assembly constituency in the recent election.

Chandrababu Naidu had disclosed long ago that the Cash Transfer Scheme (CTS) of his party was the brainchild of Lokesh. CTS was the main election promise of TDP. However, TDP sources were mum on Lokesh’s entry into active politics. There had been no talk in the party so far about Lokesh contesting from Chandragiri, party leader K Rammohan Rao said and alleged that the Congress was spreading such rumours.
