Jaya offers prayers at Kalahasti temple

TIRUPATI: Former chief minister of Tamil Nadu and AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa visited Sri Kalahasti, 47 km from here, on Monday and participated in Rudrabhishekam performed at the temple.

TIRUPATI: Former chief minister of Tamil Nadu and AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa visited Sri Kalahasti, 47 km from here, on Monday and participated in Rudrabhishekam performed at the temple.

Jayalalithaa, accompanied by Sasikala and two others, arrived here by a special helicopter from Chennai.

Nearly 1,000 party activists from Gummidipundi and Nagari welcomed her at the helipad.

She straight away drove to the temple and was received with temple honours by the priests and temple trust chairman Shantaram J Pawar and Executive Officer AS Ramachandra Murthy.

The AIADMK chief participated in the Rudrabhishekam and later offered prayers to the presiding deities.

Later, the AIADMK general secretary left for Chennai.
