VIJAYAWADA: Ghantasala continues to be a legend for the Telugu song lovers even after his demise, said All India Radio station director, Aditya Prasad.

He was speaking at a programme organised to mark the 89th birth anniversary of legendary singer and music composer of Telugu films, Ghantasala Venkateshwara Rao. The programmes was organised here on Sunday by the Ghantasala Sangeeta Kala Vedika.

Aditya Prasad, the chief guest at the programme, said the legendary singer still lives in the hearts of the Telugu song lovers. His renditions are appreciated by people with much enthusiasm and respect, he said. Aditya also highlighted Ghantasala's contribution to the Telugu cinemas.

Earlier, he garlanded the statue of the singer at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram. Sangeetha Kala Vedika president S Pedabrahmam, member G Gangaraju, singers T Subramanyam, N Srihari and members of Sarada Kala Samithi were present.
