HYDERABAD:Tension built up at the Gun Park on Saturday with TDP leaders Motkupalli Narasimhulu and E Dayakara Rao enacting a high voltage suicide drama for separate Telangana state.
The TDP leaders wanted Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhara Rao too come to the Gun Park to commit suicide along with them as he failed to realise Telangana state.
Narasimhulu who dared Rao to come to the Gun Park on Saturday for committing suicide along with him by hanging at the martyrs' memorial, alleged that the TRS chief mortgaged the Telangana movement to contractors for money.
When Narasimhulu along with Telangana Telugu Desam Forum (TTDF) convenor Dayakar Rao reached the Gun Park, students belonging to the TRS also came to the place to obstruct the TDP leaders.
However, the timely intervention of police prevented a clash between TDP activists and TRS students. Police took Narasimhulu and Dayakar Rao to Nampally police station and released them later. Narasimhulu described Rao as a toy gun which does not fire bullets for Telangana. However, TRS leader KT Rama Rao retorted that Rao was a real gun hung on the wall and it fires bullets if the firearm is used.
Another TRS leader T Harish Rao pointed out that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was the real obstructer to creation of Telangana state. When Naidu took a U turn on Telangana, the TDP leaders would have committed suicide then itself, he said.
Narasimhulu held Rao responsible for the death of around 700 students for the Telangana cause. Rao did not utter a single word on Telangana in the ongoing session of Parliament. Rao's attitude was the same in the past too, Narasimhulu said.
Dayakar Rao said the TRS president should at least allow his son Rama Rao to accept their challenge to commit suicide for Telangana.Narasimhulu who had been hurling choicest abuses against Rao in the recent past, termed him a Kumbhakarna of Telangana.
