Caste group backs Mopidevi’s case

Pressure is mounting on the state government to provide legal expenses to former excise minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao too along with five other ministers who have been served notices by the Supreme Court in the disproportionate assets case against Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Members of the AP Agni (Vanne) Kula Kshatriya Welfare Association called on chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy at Secretariat and demanded that the government should pick up the legal bills of Mopidevi, who is in jail for his alleged irregularities in allotting lands to Vanpic project.

They also asked the government to see that the former minister is granted bail.
