Ban sought on Veera Brahmendra Swamy book

Sri Madvirat Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy Porata Samithi president L Venkatachary and several other leaders urged Potti Sriramulu Telugu University to ban a book on Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy, which is authored by Dr Marri Narasimha Reddy and published by the university in connection with recent the World Telugu Conference that was held at Tirupati.

The Samithi organised a protest programme at Indira park here Tuesday and warned the university of intensifying the pressure on authorities if they did not act on their demand.

Leaders said the book was full of contradictions and untruths, which hurt the sentiments of a large number of devotees of Veera Brahmendra Swamy. Stating that the writer had every right to write any book in different angles, Venkatachary said he had no right to hurt the sentiments of the  devotees.

Samithi leaders said a few years back, OU had even conferred a P.hd award to Dr Reddy for the book.
