Four killed, eight injured as bus rams into lorry

Four persons, including a woman, were killed and eight others injured when their bus rammed into a lorry in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district, police said today.

At around 11.40 PM last night, the ill-fated APSRTC bus, proceeding towards Srisailam from Kalayandurgam, rammed into a stationary lorry from rear side on the outskirts of Dhone resulting in the death of four persons on the spot, they said.

The eight injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where their condition was stable, they said.

The deceased were identified as - Balkrishna (27), Shivashankar and Ashok Kumar (both in their 30s), besides a woman also aged in her 30s, a police official said, adding that further investigation was on.
