Venkaiah warns Congress against bid to fix Modi

Express News Service

The Congress is playing with fire by trying to implicate Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi in Ishrat Jahan encounter case, BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu has alleged.

After paying tributes to Jana Sangh founder Shyam Prasad Mukheree here on Saturday, Naidu said, “Modi is the most popular leader in the country. People will not accept politicking by the Congress and its compromise on national security. It will boomerang on the Congress.”

It was really shocking to note that the Congress, after the CBI has filed a chargesheet in Ishrat Jahan encounter case, was trying to politicise the whole issue and gain mileage, and is even ready to compromise on the nation’s security, Venkaiah Naidu alleged.

“One should not forget that the Congress is known for misusing the CBI to harass its political opponents, to keep supporting parties under control and also to get backing of neutrals as and when necessary,” he said.
