The supporters of former home minister Sabita Indra Reddy and YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy created a ruckus on the court premises and clashed with the security personnel at the Nampally criminal courts complex here on Friday.
Sabita and Jagan, along with 11 other accused, appeared in the CBI special court in connection with the Jagan assets case.
Principal special judge U Durga Prasad Rao was so much annoyed by the commotion that was witnessed in the courtroom that he warned the accused counsels that if it continued then they would lose the sympathy of the court. The counsels assured the judge that it would not happen again.
As Jagan and Sabita Reddy were appearing in the CBI special court a large number of their family members and supporters were present in the court room due to which there was complete chaos and commotion.
Even the accused and their counsels found it difficult to enter the courtroom. The security personnel had a tough time handling the situation. The courtroom was so packed that it was even difficult to hear the arguments of the counsels of the accused.
Jagan greets Sabita: Jagan and Sabita exchanged pleasantries in the courtroom. Jagan took the lead and enquired about her. Though it appeared half-hearted, Sabita responded and said hello.
Jagan’s mother and YSR Congress Party honorary president YS Vijayalakshmi, who was present in the courtroom with Jagan’s wife Bharathi and MLA Shobha Nagi Reddy, also exchanged pleasantries with Sabita.
Vijayamma in tears: It was an emotional reunion for the family members of Jagan. As soon as Vijayamma saw her son Jagan, she could not control her emotion and burst into tears. Jagan hugged his mother and consoled her. His wife Bharathi and party MLA Shobha Nagi Reddy also got emotional and tears rolled down their eyes.
Principal special judge U Durga Prasad Rao allowed Jagan’s family members to spend time with him for about 40 minutes in the courtroom.
Though a large number of security personnel were posted at the court they had a tough time controlling the crowd. Many activists forcefully barged into the courtroom forcefully and created a commotion. The CBI judge was forced to direct the police to remove them from there.
Even outside the courtroom a large number of the supporters of both the leaders gathered and shouted slogans in support of Sabita and Jagan.
Anticipating trouble from the supporters of Sabita and Jagan, police cordoned the entire area and did not allow vehicles to ply on the roads leading to the court.
The residents of the area too had a hard time as they were not allowed to use the road that led to the court.
