Other three tainted ministers should also resign, demands BJP

Express News Service

Stating that the Congress government could not consider itself clean with the resignations of two tainted ministers of the Kiran Kumar Reddy’s cabinet, BJP state general secretary S Suresh Reddy on Monday alleged that the chief minister himself was involved in a Rs 300-crore coal scam.

Speaking to media persons here, he said that Kiran Kumar Reddy should step down from his seat as his government had indulged in various large-scale scandals.

“The chief minsiter’s brother himself is facing allegations of involvement in red sanders smuggling,’’ Suresh Reddy said.

He demanded that the remaining three tainted ministers -- Kanna Lakshminarayana, Ponnala Lakshmaiah and J Geeta Reddy -- should also resign as their role in the issuance of the 26 controversial GOs by the YSR regime was also under the CBI scanner.

He questioned the credibility of the CBI for adopting double-standards and not interrogating Congress president Sonia Gandhi, her political secretary Ahmed Patel, Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao and APCC president B Satyanarayana,  all of whom had accepted huge bribes during the YSR regime.

Expressing confidence over his party returning to power at the Centre in the 2014 general elections, he said that 42 per cent of the people in the country had defended the prime ministerial candidature of Gujarat chief minsiter Narendra Modi.

He said that Modi would visit Hyderabad in June for interacting with youth on various issues.
