Suicide bid at Tirumala temple

A pilgrim from Anantapur  attempted suicide by slashing his throat and hands with a blade near Golla Mandapam located opposite the main entrance of the Tirumala temple on Sunday.

A pilgrim from Anantapur  attempted suicide by slashing his throat and hands with a blade near Golla Mandapam located opposite the main entrance of the Tirumala temple on Sunday.

According to TTD CV&SO GVG Ashok Kumar, the person has been identified as Mallikarjun. After he had darshan, he took the extreme step. Some pilgrims noticed him lying on ground and rushed him to Aswini hospital.He was later shifted to SVR Ruia general hospital where his condition is said to be stable. In a suicide note, Mallikarjun said that he was committing suicide due to family disputes.
