Lok Satta to Go it Alone, to Contest 6 Lok Sabha, 50 Assembly Seats in T

With talks between TDP and BJP over forging an alliance were still caught in a deadlock, the Lok Satta Party (LSP) which was keen to join the team, has now decided to go it alone in the elections in Telangana.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, party state president Katari Srinivasa Rao said that his party will have no tie-ups with any party and will fight the elections on its own. He said the LSP would field its candidates from 50 to 60 Assembly and six Lok Sabha seats in Telangana region. Similarly,  the party will contest  100 Assembly seats and 15-20 Lok Sabha seats in Seemandhra.

The party which has already named candidates for 14 Assembly seats in Telangana will release its second list of candidates on Sunday, he said.

Srinivasa Rao explained that his party  had proposed agenda-based electoral tie-ups with the BJP and the TDP based on their performance in the 2009 general elections. Although time is running out for filing nominations, there has been no response from those parties till now.

Against such a backdrop, the  party was forced to contest on its own, he said.

Lok Satta  is planning to contest from Uppal, Qutbullapur, Kukatpally, Cantonment, Medchal, Secunderabad, Khairatabad, Amberpet, Malakpet, Maheswaram, Ibrahimpatnam, Karwan and Vikarabad, Kamareddy, Banswada, Jukkal, Balkonda, Nizamabad Urban, 

Gajwel, Sangareddy, Patancheru, Mahbubnagar, Shadnagar, Jadcherla, Wanaparthy, Kalwakurthy,

Warangal East and West, Wardhannapet, Mahabubabad, Parakala, Palakurthy, Karimnagar, Ramagundam, Korutla, Sircilla, Vemulawada, Pedapalli, Adilabad, Bellampalli, Chennur,  Kothagudem, Sattupalle, Aswaraopet, Madhira, Wyra,  Miryalguda, Kodada, Tungathurthi, Munugodu and Aleru.

The party will field its Lok Sabha candidates in Secunderabad, Chevella, Warangal and Medak in addition to Malkajigiri.
