CPI Seeks Meet on Loan Waiver

Express News Service

HYDERABAD: CPI Telangana state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy has demanded that the state government convene an all-party meeting immediately on ‘farm loan waiver’ issue.

In a press release here on Saturday, he said the conditions imposed by the government on the loan waiver were creating panic among the farmers and the government should implement its promise without any rider. ‘’KCR should stick to the promise he made in the election manifesto.

He should understand that it is not new that farmers not having proper title deeds take loans pledging their gold ornaments. Such loans too should be taken into consideration,’’ he said.

“KCR, who endeared himself to people by leading the Telangana movement, should not take steps that would dent his image and prove costly for his party. It would not be proper on the part of the government to create a situation pushing farmers to suicide but sign the file on the farmer loan waiver immediately as promised,” the CPI leader said.
