5 Held for Fake Note Circulation

TADEPALLIGUDEM: The police nabbed five of a six-member gang involved in circulating fake currency notes and seized cash worth Rs 1 lakh, 10 g of gold biscuits and two duplicate gold biscuits from them here Tuesday. They also launched a manhunt for another gang member who is absconding.

The arrested were identified as T Ramesh and M Anjaneyulu of Tadepalligudem, D Suryanarayana of Kasipadu village in Ganapavaram mandal, A Narsing and Mohammed Yacob Mia of Warangal. However, S Anjaneyulu of Godugupeta in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal is at large.

DSP Raja Gopal said that the accused were cheating people by circulating fake currency and gold. They were offering fake currency notes worth Rs 3 lakh for original currency worth Rs 1 lakh and 1 kg gold for Rs 18 lakh. Yacob and Narsing were working as agents of the gang.

Based on a tip-off, the police arrested the accused, registered a case and took up investigation. E
