Valuables Worth Rs 20 Lakh Stolen

Express News Service

VIJAYAWADA: Unidentified miscreants burgled the house of Thyagarajan Christopher Karunakaran, owner of JC Graphics Private Limited, located in second street of RTC Colony under Patamata police station limits, on Tuesday and decamped with valuables and cash valued at Rs 20 lakh.

According to the Patamata police, unidentified miscreants gained entry into the house, a duplex one, by breaking windowsills on north side and forced open a bedroom door on the first floor, even as Thyagarajan was sleeping in bedroom downstairs. They took away a briefcase containing gold and other valuables including a diamond necklace, cash including some US dollars and Chinese currency, two still cameras and two mobile phones (iphone and Samsung).

When Thyagarajan woke up in the morning and found the locked bedroom opened, he went in and found the valuables missing. He called police and lodged a complaint. Police said it looks to be the handiwork of professional thieves.
