Ex-Vijaywada Mayor Anuradha to Head Women's Finance Corporation

TDP’s firebrand and former mayor of Vijayawada Panchumarti Anuradha has been appointed chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh.

HYDERABAD: TDP’s firebrand and former mayor of Vijayawada Panchumarti Anuradha has been appointed chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh Women’s Co-operative Finance Corporation Ltd.

Anuradha, who had created a record of sorts in 2000 by becoming the youngest mayor in the world at the age of 26, is currently the general secretary of TDP.

She had the opportunity of delivering a guest lecture to All India Service probationers at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration at Mussoorie on ‘Relations between politicians and bureaucracy’ in 2012.

She is the second woman to receive this honour from the academy after a DWACRA woman, Sikhander, of Kaikaluru from the State.

Burja Lakshmi, G Meghala Devi, Masala Padmaja, Chitrachedu Visalakshi and YV Rajeswari Devi have been appointed directors of the corporation.

Masala Padmaja is the daughter-in-law of ex-TDP MLA Masala Erranna. A doctor by profession, she had represented TDP in Assembly from Alur Assembly constituency in Kurnool district from 2004 to 2009.

“The term of the Board will be for a period of two years from the date of its assuming office,” a GO said.
