23 Trains Cancelled Due to Heavy Rain

VISAKHAPATNAM : ue to incessant rains and breaches of railway track in Southern Railway and South Central Railway, the train services were severely affected. As a result, the Railways has decided to cancel, short terminate or divert several trains over the next 24 hours.

In all, the Railways cancelled about 23 trains scheduled to leave their originating stations on Tuesday and passing through or arriving at Visakhapatnam and surrounding stations on Wednesday. They include Howrah-Chennai Central Coromandel Express (no.12841), Shalimar (Kolkata)-Chennai Central Express (no.22825), Santragachi-Chennai Central Express (no.22807), Shalimar (Kolkata)-Trivandrum Express (no.22642), Howrah-Chennai Central Mail  (no.12839), Hatia-Yesvantpur Express (no.12835), Bilaspur-Tirupati Express (no.17481), Tirupati-Puri Express (no.17480), Tiruchchirappalli-Howrah Express (no.12664), Ernakulam-Patna Express (no.22643), Chennai Central-Howrah Mail (no.12840), Chennai Central-Visakhapatnam Weekly Express (no.22870), Yesvantpur-Howrah Duronto Express (no.12246), Ernakulam-Howrah Special (no.02836), Visakhapatnam-Tirupati (no.17488), Chennai-Howrah Coromandel Express (no.12842), Alppuzha-Dhanbad Express (no.13352), Villupuram-Kharagpur Express (no.22604), Yesvantpur-Hatia Express (no.18638), Yesvantpur-Bhubaneswar Express (no.12846), Howrah-Chennai Central Special (no.00839), Bhubaneswar-Pondicherry Express (no.12898), and Bhubaneswar-Prasanti Nilayam (no.18463).It has been decided to cancel two trains Wednesday, including the Howrah-Chennai Central Coromandel Express (no.12841) scheduled to leave from Howrah at 2.50 pm, and Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Train (no.17488) scheduled to leave Visakhapatnam at 2 pm. Similarly, a few trains were partially cancelled which include Visakhapatnam-Chennai Central Express (no.22869) short-terminated at Vijayawada, Puri-Tirupati Express (no.17479) at Tuni, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Special Train (no.08573) at Annavaram, and Tirupati-Bhubaneshwar Express (No.22872) at Renigunta.

The Railways has diverted Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express (no.15906) which left Dibrugarh at 10.45 pm on November 14, is diverted to run via Nandyal, Dhone, Gooty, and Dharmavaram stations. Similarly, the Dhanbad-Alppuzha Express (no.13351) is diverted to run via Dhone, Gooty and Dharmavaram stations.
