ANITS Launches English Language Club

VISAKHAPATNAM: In order to encourage students to develop communication skills and provide them with a platform to explore and improve their soft skills, the English and Humanities department of ANITS (Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences) launched the language club ‘La Literati’ on the institute’s campus here Wednesday.

Speaking at the inaugural of the club, ANITS secretary and correspondent V Thapovardhan lauded the efforts of the faculty of the English department for their dedication and commitment towards launching the club. While students have been getting impressive grades in their core subjects, they are losing out on good opportunities due to poor communication skills, he said, and appealed to the students to be part of the club to hone their skills.

Prof B Sandhya, head of the department of English, GITAM University, was the chief guest. She appreciated the faculty for their endeavours in establishing the club and hoped that it would help students overcome stage fear and grow to become effective communicators.

ANITS English and Humanities department head Prof V Rupa, who was instrumental in launching the club, exhorted students to play an active role and utilise the opportunity to sharpen their communication and presentation skills.
